Over 10 new products in the field of industrial Ethernet and CAN bus

Braunkabel continuously expands its product portfolio, in particular for demanding applications such as industrial automation. Over 10 new products were added to the BKDATA standard range in 2018 alone – all are produced entirely in-house.
First Braunkabel standard range in the area of industrial Ethernet
Braunkabel has been an established provider of sensor actuator cabling to renowned plug connector and sensor manufacturers for decades. In 2016 the company entered a new product area – industrial Ethernet. The BKDATA standard range encompasses Cat 5e and Cat 6 data cables for Ethernet/IP, Profinet and EtherCat applications as well as data cables for CAN bus applications. All standard cables from Braunkabel are UL-approved, flame-resistant and designed for use in harsh industrial environments. Last but not least, the BKDATA product range includes extremely flexible cable types that can be used in constantly moving applications such as drag chains. Cat 5e data cables with compact, space-saving star quad stranding – 1x4x22 AWG – provide transmission speeds of up to 100 Mbit/s. Cat 5e and Cat 6 data cables with 4 pairs – 4x2x26 AWG – allow for transmission speeds of up to 1,000 Mbit/s.
Braunkabel relies on a variety of insulation materials. In addition to PVC, PUR, Flame Retardant Non-Corrosive (FRNC) compounds and a fully recyclable eco-friendly material, three halogen-free alternatives are also available as insulation for the outer sheath. All of these options are flame-resistant and designed to provide high performance in harsh industrial environments and to prevent unnecessary downtimes. In addition to producing premium standard solutions, Braunkabel also specialises in the development, manufacture and supply of customer-specific solutions. These also include hybrid cables consisting of one element to transmit data and a second element to transmit power. The company therefore sees itself as a strong development partner within the automation industry.
